Trimble Identity Developer Guide

Trimble Identity (TID) is a centralized authentication service with enhanced security and standard interfaces. Trimble Identity provides authentication for users, devices, and applications.

Trimble Identity is built using standard industry protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0.

Trimble Identity operates as a single sign-on for users across applications, products, and APIs. Trimble Identity offers a seamless user experience to customers by enabling a single, common identity for users no matter where they are in the Trimble ecosystem.

Trimble Identity also provides authentication for devices and applications. Devices can leverage mTLS, and applications use Trimble Identity to authenticate with web services using client credentials.

  • Federation: Trimble enterprise customers can integrate their own identity provider through Trimble Identity’s federation capabilities. Trimble Identity supports OpenID Connect and SAML 2.0 federation protocols, allowing TID to integrate with customers’ identity providers including Azure AD, Okta, etc.
