Subscribe to Event topics

To create a subscription, you first have to create a Cloud Console application allowing you to connect to the Events Service. This is described in the connecting to the Event Service section.

After creating an application, you can create a subscription by following steps:

  1. Submit a request

    • Open THIS{:target=“_blank”} form and submit, this will create a ticket and auto-assign it to the Events dev team.

    • You are required to fill the following information:

      • The name of the event topic you would like to consume.
      • The name and ID of the Cloud Console application that you would like to use as your credentials for consuming.
      • The environment you wish to consume (i.e. stage or prod or both).
      • The protocol you wish to use (or the Confluent Kafka Connector).
      • The maximum number of event messages you would like to receive per request. You can either batch your messages upto maximum of 20 or you can receive one event at a time.
      • The name of your product/team.
      • The group email of your team (if one exists).
  • With this information, the events team will set up your subscription and email back with the endpoint.
  • You can also contact the Event Service dev team directly using the group email address: dispatchRider-ug@trimble.com{:target=“_blank”}.
  • Note that the dev team is based out of Chennai time zone and typically fulfills requests within one working day.
