Trimble File Service overview

The Trimble File Service API offers capabilities for securely managing file-type resources organized into folders and related metadata using predefined ACL roles.

The Trimble File Service is Trimble’s next iteration of file management solutions. It builds on top of the work and learnings from Data Ocean and Trimble Connect, and expands beyond their application- and project-centric concepts.

  • Space, Folder, File and Object Operations: Create/update, get/list, move/rename, delete/restore, copy, and more
  • Managing Hierarchical File Structures: Organize files and folders into nested structures
  • Strict Versioning: All changes to files and folders are trackable and addressable, allowing users to view the full folder structure’s state at any point in history and refer to specific file versions
  • Large Content Support: Multi-part upload for handling large files
  • Fileset (Archive) Support: Manage collections of files as archives
  • Malware Scanning: Ensure file contents are safe by scanning for malware
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Define access permissions through Access Control Lists (ACL)
  • Regional Endpoints: Make requests to specific regional endpoints, with resources in each region operating independently from similar resources in other regions
