Device Bootstrap

After a device is created in IAM, it could be set up with or without a certificate using IAM Device Cert API. Device certificates issued by Trimble Cloud Core CA are valid for three years only. When they expire the device will no longer be able to connect to Trimble IoT Gateway or Trimble Identity. Trimble IAM provides an API to generate and manage operational device X509 certificates.

Reasons for initiating Trimble Cloud Core CA certification renewal :

  • Setting up certificate for the first time.
  • The existing certificate has expired or is about to expire - Renew Certificate.
  • Want to remove the certificate.
