Best practices

Use the following best practices for creating emails and ensuring the best recipient experience.

Every email sent can affect the overall deliverability of all emails. To maintain our domain’s integrity, please make sure every email sent is valid and can be received by a user.

To request a new template in the system, please see Provide a new template.

Service best practices

  • The recipient’s email address is valid, even in testing.
  • Every email sent is transactional.
  • All emails sent must use an email template.
  • For language localization, use the simple locale code. For example, use en if the content for en-US and en-GB are the same.
  • The locale value submitted through the API call must match the value of the template used. For example, since the locale code for French is fr, the template will be named fr.html.

Logo image best practices

  • Logos should be .png type files
  • Logos should have a height of no more than 20 pixels
  • Logos may be the single Trimble logo or the Trimble logo with a product logo
  • No email should have a divisional or product logo without the Trimble logo
  • Logos should be placed outside of the main content canvas, in the frame of the email

Email best practices

  • Sender email is easy to read and includes the product name.

  • Reply-to email address is not a no-reply email.

  • Subject Line is no more than 50 characters, includes the product name and reason for receiving an email. Example: Device 2 Needs Calibration - SysQue.

  • Include a preheader that gives the user a complete idea of the email’s content.

  • Emails should not include logos, except the Trimble logo and a brand logo.

  • Fonts
