Trimble Identity v4 has a security measure to prevent brute-force attacks for a user. After 5 consecutive incorrect password attempts, a user’s account is locked for 15 minutes.
The following questions and answers provide additional information regarding the Trimble Identity password policy and use.
What are the Password rules regarding password history, e.g. limits and reuse of old passwords?
Trimble Identity does not track password history and therefore does not limit password reuse (even the current generation of password).
What is the maximum Password Age (how often password must be changed. e.g. 90 days)?
None. There is no maximum age for your password.
How frequently can I change a password? Is there a minimum about of time between password changes?
There is no minimum length of time for a password.
Does your password display in plain text?
No. Trimble Identity does not show passwords in plain text.
Is there any way Trimble customers can set custom password policies for their users?
No. Currently, Trimble Identity doesn’t have advanced user administrative functions. If customers want to utilize this functionality, they would need to set up a federation with a 3rd-party enterprise Identity provider, such as Azure AD, Okta, Google ID, etc. More information on the federation process can be found on the Identity Federation with Trimble page .
This has the advantage that Trimble users can use the same credentials they use for other systems with Trimble Identity, meaning all of the policies the customer configures in that identity provider will apply for Trimble Identity.
