Trimble Entitlement Developer Guide

Trimble Entitlement v4 is the core service backing our sales, license administration, and product license check tools. Entitlements tell us and our customers what products they have access to, which users or what devices have access to those products, and for how long they have access.

Trimble Entitlement is connected to three key processes in a customer’s lifecycle with a product:

  • Order processing and fulfillment: This process is tightly integrated with the Global Salesforce and back-office systems to ensure that orders are fulfilled and license delivery to the customer is complete immediately upon purchase.

  • License assignment and administration: AccountExperience tools allow our customers to view their purchased products and assign licenses to users or devices.

  • License checks and license enforcement: Trimble Entitlement APIs can be called by applications when a user logs in to determine the functionality they have access to and record usage of that functionality to ensure they remain within the limits of their licenses.

Trimble Entitlement v4 should be adopted alongside the Global Salesforce and AccountExperience as part of your business’s Digital Transformation. Many key actions to set your business and products up for success, such as SKU simplification and rationalization, are key steps in adopting Trimble Entitlement.
