Email OTP and Device Trust
To enhance security for users without Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), Email One-Time Passcodes (OTP) and Device Trust features have been introduced. These updates ensure user access remains restricted to authorized users, even in the event of password compromise.
Email One-Time Passcodes (OTP)
Native TID users without Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) are required to enter a 6-digit passcode sent to the registered primary email address.
When will you be asked for an OTP?
-
Initial Login : The first time you log in after this security policy is active.
-
Subsequent Logins: You will continue to receive OTP prompts unless:
-
You enable a permanent form of MFA (Passkeys, TOTP, or secondary email).
-
You choose to “Trust this device” (see below).
-
You login from a new or unrecognized device.
Note: OTP codes are valid for 10 minutes. If your code expires, you can request a new one directly from the login screen.
-
One-Time Bypass : Need to get in quickly? You are allowed a one-time bypass of the OTP requirement by selecting “Skip for now” during your first login attempt.
Device Trust for a Seamless Experience
The frequency of OTP prompts can be reduced by designating frequently used devices as trusted.
- Trust this device (Checkbox checked) : You will not be prompted for an OTP on this specific device/browser for 30 days.
- Device Not Trusted (Checkbox not checked) : A new email OTP is required for every login attempt.
